Denny Madigan <\/strong>gave the Club a detailed description of his business, An Affair to Remember.\u00a0 This business has been in operation since 1998 with Denny buying it in 2010.\u00a0 They still offer the same services that they offered 26 years ago.<\/p>\r\n

An Affair to Remember offers digitizing services transferring old technology to new technology.\u00a0 The old technology varies from 8 mm film to VHS and audio tapes.\u00a0 In addition to their digitizing business, they also provide video services to over 100 weddings a year along with screen and projector rentals.\u00a0 Denny says they focus on customer service and have longstanding relationships with their clients.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

EVANS HOME VAN FINALLY “WRAPPED”<\/strong>!\u00a0 In 2022, our Club in conjunction with the Stonewall Ruritan Club and a generous donation by Chris Lewis purchased a van for The Evans Home from the proceeds from the Rummage Sale.\u00a0 The van has finally been “wrapped” with decals indicating who sponsored the van.\u00a0 As the Rummage Sale reinvents itself, what a great way to transition out.\u00a0 Many thanks to Wilson Gilbert for his tireless efforts to make this happen.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

MARI KOFALT<\/strong> \u2013 Mari is well known to our members since she is the wife of Pat Kofalt, a very active member of our club.\u00a0 Mari is retired from the Defense Department and now spends most of her time pursuing her interest in crafts, reading (WWII era is a favorite), walking and singing, sometimes at the same time.\u00a0 Her interests also include working on behalf of women and children to keep them safe and well fed, Bright Futures, Evans Home, Literacy Volunteers, and the Rescue Mission to name a few.\u00a0 Mari has accompanied Pat to Jamaica to help with the Negril dental clinic, so she has seen firsthand how Rotary can impact a community.\u00a0 It didn’t take much persuasion from husband Pat and Jean Barch to get Mari to join our Club once the Active Service Membership became available.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

JESSICA WHITE – <\/strong>Jessica is the niece of Ridge White, and like most of their family, she works for White Properties and is the Creative Director for Willow Grove Farm as well.\u00a0 With a degree in Interior Design, Jessica has expanded her talents to graphic design, landscaping design, and is a Feng Shui Practitioner.\u00a0 When she’s not working, Jessica is taking care of her small menagerie (including ducks, cows, goats & sheep), gardening and generally being crafty.\u00a0 She is a current board member of the Evans Home which reflects her interest in supporting children and families to live with security and safety while being exposed to hope and possibility.\u00a0 Both Ridge and Jean Barch spent time with Jessica on the Evans Home Board and recognized her Rotarian qualities.\u00a0 With persistence, they were finally able to convince her to share them with our Club.<\/span><\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

AUDI WYNN – <\/strong> Audi is a retired orthopedic surgeon, but she hasn\u2019t given up medicine entirely.\u00a0 Currently, she is the Supervising Physician for Premier Health Resources (PHR) and also has a medical consulting business in NY City every other week.\u00a0 When she\u2019s not working, she can be found on her farm with friends, family and pets.\u00a0 Audi is most interested in helping women and children.\u00a0 She hopes to put her event center to good use in this endeavor through activities and fundraisers.\u00a0 We have Diane Ruckman and Tricia Simpson to thank for bringing Audi into the Club.<\/span><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

HEALTH TIP<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Libba let us know that August is Medical Alert Awareness month. She said that a nationwide medical alert system using bracelets to identify an individual’s medical information was created in 1956 and signed into law in 1978 under Jimmy Carter.<\/p>\r\n

Last week Libba encouraged club members to get some exercise and support a good cause at the same time by joining CCAP’s 4th annual Bike Tour on August 24th<\/strong>.\u00a0 The family ride will be at the MSV, but also 30, 50, 70, and 100 mile routes are available for those ready to test their endurance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
